Our Glasgow (UK) based client has an immediate vacancy for an experienced Leather Cutting Specialist; to effectively manage  and maximise all cutting yields for all programs within the Leather Cutting Division, to deliver against targets and objectives and contribute to creating a culture of continuous improvement, high performance and customer excellence.

Overall Purpose of Role
Managing and reporting of yields for all programs across the Leather Cutting Division.

Key accountabilities
• To contribute to delivering the company Mission, Vision and Values.
• Fully support the LCD Manager to achieve the LCD strategy.
• Reporting yields for all programs on a daily, weekly and quarterly basis.
• To ensure accurate preparation of daily and weekly yield reports for all cutting programs across the Division.
• Deliver cutting yields.
• To ensure all trials carried out for potential future business are accurate and representative of production intent.
• Providing constructive feedback to the leather manufacturing business in order to maximise yields.
• Continually assessing the current production methods, ensuring best practices in terms of nesting and marking are being followed at all times.
• Detailed and comprehensive knowledge of all customer natural feature guides (NFG’s).
• Supporting the quality department with supply chain issues relating to cutting projects.
• To drive high performance, consistency and ownership ensuring ‘best practice’ is shared across the function and becomes part of our DNA.
• Creates and provides reports and support the LCD Manager in preparing the company board report.
• Full responsibility for ensuring all administration pertaining yields is complete and accurate.

Person Specification
• Proven track record of delivering maximum cutting yields.
• Demonstrates use of innovative techniques to achieve required efficiencies whilst maintaining acceptable internal reject rate.
• Commercially focused and numerical.
• Resilient and energetic – makes things happen, isn’t easily put off.
• Inspires and motivates others to give of their best every time.
• Leads rather than manages - high achiever who thrives on exceeding results.
• Inquisitive by nature – has great attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills – engages effectively at all levels across the Group.
• Sees self as integral to the division rather than observer of the business.
• Experience of LEAN manufacturing and/or 6 Sigma would be highly advantageous.
