Junior Account Manager – Marine Distribution Sales Team

Our client is a long established and leading UK based manufacturer of leisure boating equipment.
Based in Havant, Hampshire with 2 manufacturing & engineering sites, supplying a network of Marine Distributors and Boat Builders throughout Europe and around the world.

They are growing our business and they are looking for a smart, motivated, sales focused individual to join their distribution sales team. The successful candidate for the position of Junior Account Manager – Marine Distribution Sales Teamwill have every opportunity to develop their role into a more senior account management position as experience and knowledge progresses. This is a UK based (Havant, Hampshire) with occasional overseas travel.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Distribution Sales Manager, you would be responsible forday to day support of the customer base. You will proactively seek out new sales opportunities and support the sales managers in their management of key clients as well as being directly responsible for a number of customers throughout Europe and beyond.

The role may suit somebody already working in retail or distribution sales within the marine industry (ideally) who is looking for the next step in their career, or a graduate seeking a commercial position within a UK marine company.

You should demonstrate the desire to learn, that you want to win, that you are seeking to build a long term career within a major UK marine business which can lead to other opportunities and that you have a positive ‘can do’ approach no matter how difficult a task.

The candidate will have/be:

• Experience of the marine industry or a personal interest & knowledge of boating/sailing.
• A Degree level education or relevant working experience.
• Computer literate with competence across the Microsoft Office suite.
• An ability to converse professionally and confidently over the phone and face to face in a sales and negotiating environment.
• An interest in technical and mechanical aspects of products.
• Professional, polite, articulate and ‘customer friendly’
• An enthusiasm for working in a diverse environment which includes some international travel.
• A self-starter that is organised, structured and able to work under pressure both in a team and on their own.
• A high level of ability & confidence to speak, read and write in English.
• An Additional Language skill beneficial, especially French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch or German.
• Flexible to meet the needs of the company.
