Maintenance Technician

Our prestigious automotive client has an immediate vacancy for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician for their site in the West Midlands (UK).  The purpose of the role will be to ensure maximum efficiency of the production departments through the implementation of planned and reactive preventative maintenance.

Job Overview

• Effectively and efficiently use a broad range of electrical and mechanical maintenance principles and practices to ensure the efficiency and technical availability targets of advanced automotive manufacturing facilities are continuously achieved and improved. 
• Provide hands on technical support to advanced automotive manufacturing processes through proactive and reactive maintenance to resolve all quality, efficiency and reliability challenges. 
• Ensure that preventive maintenance tasks and schedules are fully adhered to, executed on time and that all machinery is operating in optimum condition.
• Maintain manufacturing facilities to ensure technical issues within the responsible area have minimal impact on the achievement of production targets. 
• Provide technical guidance to ensure Right First Time targets are achieved and maintained within the process area. 
• Provide apprentice guidance to a consistently high standard.  Ensure working area meets all health, safety & environmental requirements and fully complies with all Company standards.  Utilise the manufacturing management system to monitor facility performance and identify technical focus areas.
• You will be expected to work one of several different shift patterns (to be confirmed at interview stage), but remaining flexible to the needs of the business at all times is essential.

Qualifications/Experience

• You will need to have completed a recognised trade mechanical or electrical apprenticeship.
• Ideally hold a recognised Mechanical or Electrical Qualification.
• Have experience of maintaining PLC's, robots, motors, hard wired systems, mechanical handling systems, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• You will also have knowledge of material distribution and application systems and ancillary equipment.
