Prestige Recruitment Specialists are looking for an HR Officer to join their busy team in Hull. The position will involve working within the Hull Head Office as well as with our Account Managers and support team at our various on-site facilities throughout the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region. The successful candidate will need to be flexible in their approach to accommodate the requirements of the various sites on a day-to-day basis and you will therefore need to be a good team player and communicator an understanding of Polish both written and spoken would be an advantage (GOR) The HR Officer will be responsible for providing support to head office and on-site teams, this will include training and development of the teams as well as undertaking performance and welfare reviews and disciplinary and grievance meetings with agency workers and staff. Main Activities Provide basic counselling to staff that have performance related obstacles Provide advice and assistance in developing human resource plans Monitor staff performance and attendance activities. Monitor daily attendance/sickness /WTD Investigate and understand causes for staff absences. Recommend solutions to resolve chronic attendance difficulties. Provide advice and recommendations on disciplinary actions.
Liaising with our clients HR Departments Inform affected managers or staff of unexpected absences from work and coordinate actions ensuring the continuity of service.
Skills and experience required are:
Must be fully aware of the working time directiveand AWR • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral • Excellent knowledge of employment law • Knowledge of employee relations procedures and processes such as tribunals, equal opportunities etc. • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines • Ability to communicate effectively with people of all levels Qualifications and Experience: • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification ( would be an advantage but not essential) • Full clean driving licence Previous experience in this field would be advantageous however, passion, drive and a willingness to achieve is essential. In addition you must be an organised individual with excellent communication skills.
